Troubleshooting Visual Style Problems

Quick diagnostic solutions for common visual styling issues: generic AI photorealism, character face drift, style bleed, and JSON import errors.

Diagnostic Guide

SymptomProbable CauseSolution
Model ignores style and generates generic photorealismAI models default to 3D CGI or stock photo looks when medium locks are too weak.Open your custom style or preset. Add strong negative tokens: 3d render, cgi, photorealistic, octane render, smooth airbrush. Strengthen the affirmative medium lock in renderingApproach.
Character face changes in every shotCharacter turnaround sheet is ungenerated or not attached to the generation payload.Open Creative Bible (/studio/creative). Ensure the character has a completed reference sheet with front and 3/4 views. Verify that the configured image provider supports multi-image reference inputs.
Visual elements from Mode A bleed into Mode BMissing negative token exclusions between visual modes. In your Style Family, ensure each mode has its sister modes' tokens listed under negativeTokens. Flow Batch Studio's automatic mode directives handle this automatically when using the Scene Timeline.
JSON Import fails with syntax errorMarkdown fences (```) or conversational AI text included in pasted text.Flow Batch Studio automatically strips code blocks, but ensure you copied the opening { and closing }. Remove any trailing commas before closing braces.
Video generation flickers or warpsExcessive camera motion or frame rate mismatch in video instructions. In video generation instructions, specify 24fps cinematic camera motion, slow smooth dolly push, locked horizon, zero morphing artifacts.
Generated shot does not match newly edited styleImages already generated are never altered automatically when a style is edited.Navigate to the Visual page (/studio/visual). The editor flags shots with 'Style updated'. Click Regenerate on that scene to render a fresh frame using the updated style instructions.

The Five-Point Visual Health Checklist

Before generating a large batch of scenes on the Visual page, run through this quick checklist in Creative Bible:

  1. 1. Check Medium Lock — Is your medium explicitly stated in the style name and prompt prefix (e.g. '35mm film photograph' or '2D cel animation')?
  2. 2. Verify Negative Constraints — Are unwanted default aesthetics (like 'plastic 3D gloss' or 'smooth airbrush') included in the avoid list?
  3. 3. Check Character Sheets — Do your recurring characters have clean, generated turnaround sheets with front and 3/4 views?
  4. 4. Inspect Location Master Plates — Has each location generated an establishing master plate to anchor architectural geometry?
  5. 5. Run a Single Test Scene — Generate shot 1 on the Visual page and verify its fidelity before queuing the entire video.
